Why use tallow for skincare?
1. Tallow has been used historically in skincare for thousands of years. It’s the rendered fat of cattle, containing similar fats/lipids as human sebum (even the Latin word for “tallow” is “sebum”).
2. Tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K. Vitamin K fights free radical damage, while vitamin A is a natural retinol.
3. Tallow has naturally occurring linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid and anti-oxidant that can strengthen your skin’s barrier, boost hydration, and help control acne.
4. Tallow is non-comedogenic and helps to retain the skin’s natural moisture, it’s beneficial for all skin types.
5. A little goes a long way, only a pea sized amount is needed for skincare application.
